Services (Economics)

Economics Markets and Financial TheoryUpdated 05 Nov 2026

In economics, services are activities people pay for that do not result in a physical product: banking, insurance, retail, transport, health care, education, tourism and so on. The difference between goods and services is explained on the Goods & Services page.
