Disrupt? Sure, really four companies have the power to disrupt payments today (in no particular order):
With over a Billion+ users, Facebook certainly has the ecosystem to do so. Question is if it will do so on a global scale or not?
Imagine every Facebook Page created by an individual/company that promotes (or sells) products/services online, be suddenly be equipped with the ability of accepting payments online. Huge disruption there!
Add native Person-to-Person (P2P) payments on the entire Facebook fabric and you will see a disruption not seen in many years.
Question is - will they go global or not. They most certainly have the platform to do so.
