Why do some businesses still use old-fashioned carbon-copy credit card imprinters instead of modern processing methods?

Not sure about the US, but in many parts of Asia and Europe, most acquiring banks now no longer accept the physical imprint of the card (the carbon copy swipe) any more. There is no money saving in doing a carbon swipe any longer. In fact it is much more costly (for both the bank and the merchant to process physically).
