BitPesa was one of the first remittance companies that uses the blockchain for purposes of remittance. I maintain a list at Rebittance: Bitcoin Remittance that tracks Bitcoin Remittance companies. A few do inter-wallet transfers rather than scanning the Blockchain for confirmations.
