Money Transfers to Africa are quite expensive due to the dearth of players and those who are in the game, charge quite an amount.
The most preferred players are still the walk0in players like MoneyGram and Western Union. However, the most economical one is still a Bank to Bank Wire Transfer (however, I must caution you, Bank transfers really make sense only if the amount being transferred is over US$ 1,000). For smaller amounts, like $300-$500, you can be charged on and upwards of $75 for the transfer. In which case, MoneyGram and Western Union would be better options.
