The payment rails as offered by the current crypto technologies like Bitcoin, Ripple, Stellar, etc. is in my opinion a powerful disruptor. Being able to move value (that is transportation and settlement at the same time) has a big advantage over the current systems.
I also think the Bitcoin type ledgers will be a disruptor. They would most likely be packaged by a group of OEMs in the banking space, but the ability to have a distributed ledger amongst the banking/financial community and the regulator, would be something that can ensure, value is always tracked in real-time in the system. Check clearing and other payment instrument might also hop on to the same.
