Though I am not an expert in the mobile commerce field (learning it as much as I can), one thing that is hot in the m-commerce field is remittance payments, across-the-border payments.
Almost all the indicators suggest that this money niche within the mobile payment ecosystem will explode (or to better phrase it, is already exploding).
The downside is that Mobile Carrier and Large Banks are the ones who are most favorably positioned to take advantage of it.
The area of opportunity lies for money transmitters to have access to SaaS based software applications which will allow them to extend into the mobile space, and herein lies the problem, not very many vendors know how to go about delivering such a solution. A lot of tie-ups are required.
