If one must ask which US Bitcoin (Regulated) exchange was the first, it is CoinX (see: http://www.coinx.com) bar none.

Our exchange http://www.coinxtrader.com was the first regulated exchange in the US. Not Coinbase, Not Kraken, Not Coinsetter. No one else was there operating in a regulated/licensed environment before us.

The money transmitter licenses which we have on our page, will testify to it, and you can always query the State regulator to find out when our Money Transmitter Licenses were awarded. We went live in 2014 with our licenses and at the time no other exchange in the US was live with licenses, not a single exchange.

The list of our money transmitter licenses can be found here: Money Transmitter Licenses |
