What might the USD-to-Zamunda Pound exchange rate have been in 1988 and what could it be today?

In the movie unfortunately no reference to an exchange rate was ever given. So your guess is as good as mine. Assuming Prince Akeem does well in his country (financially) and does not ruin the economy and does indeed make it proper, then the Zamunda Pound would certainly be strong today.
