Dwolla is doing everything right!

They are one of the very few companies I have great admiration and respect for.

  • First of all, you have to love Ben Milne the CEO of Dwolla. Here is a guy who does not mince words. Period. He kind of reminds me of the young and goal driven Oracle CEO Larry Ellison (business person)
  • The model Dwolla is pursuing is the way to go - flat fees.
  • RTGS (Real-time Gross Settlement) is the need of the hour in the US. Dwolla is pursuing that.
  • Dwolla believes in a transaction framework where by costs are fixed, you don't even think twice about using it. Bingo!
  • Did I mention Flat Fees?
  • From World Bank to IFC to G20, all have been pursuing the flat-fees model for payments. Dwolla has already implemented that.
  • Dwolla is not waiting for other the Government &/or other players to come forward and solve the problem of the antiquated ACH system. They are doing it. Its live. Today.
  • Traditional Banks who rely heavy on ACH know Dwolla has got it right.
  • They are a serious threat to the $37 Trillion a year ACH framework. May not look like it now, but mark my words.
  • The Chinese proverb Journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step is what Dwolla is doing. Signing one bank/credit-union at a time to their FiSync solution.
  • Transactions under $10 - Free. Take my money already!
  • Other players scoff at Dwolla and their flat-fees model, but just ask the users of Dwolla, they love it.
  • Ben Milne does not give a fuck about the others!
