Instant access to market/merchants. No organic growth.
One other benefit that PayPal can have, is a payment network to transport their payments (globally). Having a payment network like Discover, PayPal can instantly take advantage of that network and transport transactions in real-time, by treating transactions as ATM cash-withdrawal equivalent. By treating transactions as such, instant bank-to-bank and user settlements can be done, by juxtaposing the transaction on to a virtual card. This would give PayPal a common denominator (as far as a network is concerned) ...globally.
