What free resources are available for learning about AML regulations?

The FATF (Financial Action Task Force) has a lot of recommendations that FATF member countries have to follow else they are ejected from the global banking system. They are a great resource to read (especially country-specific policies and recommendations, even though the recommendations are non-binding).

The resource is the ACAMS website; specifically, the “Explore Resources” section is worth reading. Also worth a read-through is the 5th AML Directive by the European Union. Almost all countries have their central bank that publishes some regulation on AML so that you can search that for localization awareness and check the guidelines on local FIU (Financial Intelligence Unit).
