WU agent requirements differ from country to country. The basics are the same. You fill out an application, and you need to show that you are in what WU calls a high-traffic location to be able to solicit business. They are interested in learning more about where your business is located, what sort of signage and vestibules can be setup, do you have enough counter-space, etc.

In addition to this, you will have to undergo some basic AML/KYC training, which nowadays is done online.

For each territory there is a base reserve, that WU will keep. If you business exceeds the reserve requirements, they will assess your business, and require you to put up more funds into your reserve. The higher the reserve fund, and business your location generates, the more money you make.

You don't have to be in the money transfer business to become a WU agent.
