What alternatives exist to Payoneer for receiving US client payments?

TransferWise is a good option, but your customer has to sign up with them. If the payment is one-off, or even regularly occurring payments from business accounts, then Payoneer is a great option (their standard charges for deduction is 1.0% and then they offer a reasonably good FX rate when you do the payout to your currency of choice (all things considered).

If you are running a business and also receive payments from individuals, then Payoneer might not be the best solution for you. In which case, depending on your setup, you might want to apply for a US incorporation and get a business bank account for your company, whilst never having to enter the US. Again, there are limitations (depending on your nature of work), but it works for the most part.
