The potential future of Internet Banking is extremely promising, however, it should not just be limited to the internet as in, the bank's internet web portal.
This is a problem plaguing a large majority of the banks, they see the Internet portion as just another alternative delivery channel. They are not giving it the seriousness it deserves, nor harnessing its true potential.
So many traditional pillars in the banking society are preventing innovation that is long over due in banking industry from coming forth.
A great perspective on Internet (or rather Banking 3.0) is obtained by reading Brett King's book called "Bank 3.0", the book provides a really great insight onto the Internet side of things for Banking. A must read if you're in this space.
