Is it possible to wire money directly between banks in Russia and the United States?

At present, the answer is no. The Russian banking system has been sanctioned by the United States Government (at the time of writing this answer). So no correspondent banking or proxy banking services with respect to the US Dollar or any other multi-currency associated with the United States Financial Institution &/or Non-Banking Financial Institution and the Federation of Russia is not possible and is prohibited by the sanctions in place.
