In regional markets like South Asia, Far East, Middle East, your traditional e-commerce success stories (Ebay, Etsy, etc.) don't fair well. Lots of reasons, but not going to get into them now.
You'd be better of creating your own website and promoting it, akin to what Flipkart has done (http://www.flipkart.com/).
Payment system integration, COD, shipping, etc. the way that is offered in India, doesn't come natively built in the shopping carts prevalent in the Western hemisphere today.
You would have more success and brand control if you were to take your own domain name and put up an e-commerce store on it to sell. Fairly economical to do so in India.
Word of mouth advertising within the Indian cyber-community is the best marketing. Having key bloggers, twitter and Facebook fans up-vote (for lack of a better word right now) your store, will certainly help things get jump started.
There are literally 1000s of technology bloggers. Advertising on their blogs, or asking them to promote your website in return for a back link, etc. is a great way. Bater system works like wonders in South Asia, so take full advantage of it.
