I have been scammed out of money online—how can I make the other party repay me?

Nothing much you can do, except perhaps keep persisting and hope the other party will eventually respond back.
If you are from the US, and/or the site is hosted in the US, you can send a notice to their host citing DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) and request the information be taken down for which you have worked (provided the information can be seen on the website).
Other than this, you don't have much recourse. This, unfortunately is one of the negative aspects of freelancing when you go direct. The other party can simply back away, and refuse to pay you, since the funds are not pre-paid with some escrow (like Elance or the way oDesk does).
