Sri Lanka's tourism industry can bode well with implementing e-commerce. So far, most tourist bookings, etc. are still done via travel agents, or by filling in your credit card data on a paper and faxing it in.
Indigenous arts and crafts have a decent marketplace in the e-commerce sector, you can see some of it being sold online on www.etsy.com
SL still lacks native online merchant gateway services, which if implemented, can boost local e-commerce forward, being able to pay utility bills from home, ordering food items and paying online, groceries, services sector, etc.
