Will answer my own question. Turns out the answer is 48-hours to actually process. Settlement in 72 hours.
Day 1: Debit the person who sent the payment
Day 2: Credit the Merchant to whom payment was made.
However, the ACH companies will typically settle between 3 -to- 7 days. The more your organization is tilted towards being a financial institution, the less the settlement time. If you're a regular Mom/Pop store, 7 days.
There is a 24-hour settlement option as well (offered by Fed) but not very many takers.
This is assuming Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) does not apply here.
