It would be pretty difficult to disrupt WU's model, purely because of their brand recognition and distribution network.
To roll-out a model that is homogenous to appear as one, even when dealing with 1000s of different networks and entities, takes a lot of money and time. Other MTOs are trying to set themselves apart on this very fact, but turns out, it is not easy.
To have a ubiquitous solution similar to WU, today almost seems like a utopian dream.
Put 5 people in front of a white-board and they will come out with a disruptive enough business. The question that then begs to be asked is: How many people will use it? (i.e. traction).
