Does Monitise genuinely have traction in mobile payments, or is its strength mostly in mobile banking?

Monitise has about a 20 Million end-user base (spread over 300 financial institutions) that are using a Monetise based solution. This is a pretty small number considering the number of mobile phones in the world.
Whether a solution is m-banking or m-payments, this is based on a client's requirement, not Monetise's ability or capability in a particular sector. They are a decent name in the mobile payments/banking space, but certainly not the dominant one.
They are not struggling, but they do get some serious competition in the markets they venture out in by global incumbent players or regional / geographic specific solution providers.
Most of the consulting payment professionals I know, are not too eager on Monetise because of their pricing policy.
