Does a bank safe deposit box function as a Faraday cage?

The interior is usually a conductor, so no, not really. It wouldn't serve the exact purpose of a Faraday cage, because the USB would be touching it. However, if the Interior were non-conducting, then you would indeed have a Faraday cage, provided the safety deposit box is a good conductor itself.
