If you have a valid US Visa, a domestic address and at least two methods of identification (at least one of them has to be a photo ID), you can very easily open an account.
Small banks, credit unions, might give you a hard time, but generally opening a bank account is not an issue. Bank of America, Suntrust, JP Morgan Chase, Wells-Fargo, Citi, etc. will open an account for you without issues.
For funds, you will have to declare your source of funds and sometimes proof of income, but usually it is no biggie.
