Can money laundering be done via large-scale art purchases, and how does that affect art pricing and valuations?

Can it be done? Sure! Will it be worth the effort? Probably not. The liquidation aspect of art might be a problematic area. I'm sure buying of art is used within the money-laundering construct, but the percentage would be low. Real-estate, cars, boats, jewelry are on top of the list.
