Can Dwolla be used as a payment method on e-commerce sites that don’t use its listed carts?

If you are not using the shopping cart per se (that Dwolla has a plug-in for), you can always use the API to connect and authorize payments. Their website is pretty detailed on this. The Developer page explains this in detail: https://www.dwolla.com/developers
