The ability to cancel a wire transfer depends on the country and the type of transfer sent. Generally, you can cancel or recall a wire transfer, but there is often a very short window for doing so, and there may be associated costs. It is a common misconception that if a wire transfer is credited to the recipient’s account and they haven't used the funds, it can be recalled.
