As a merchant, do I pay extra fees (beyond standard merchant fees) when accepting international scheme cards at POS or online?

There are no additional fees. If any additional fees are levied, the Debit Card holder would most likely be paying for it. As merchant, your rates are fixed for Credit / Debit card transactions. Any other network and/or authorization fees are usually paid by the card holder.
